Cryptopunks

The 2017 release of Cryptopunks by Matt Hall and John Watkinson, offers 10,000 individual 8-bit-style digital characters, each with their own unique features.

Since every Cryptopunk is represented as a non-fungible token (NFT) on the Ethereum blockchain, it may be purchased, sold, and traded just like any other cryptocurrency. The characters come in a variety of styles, from simple to complex, and have features like hats, glasses, and other accessories.

Since its inception, Cryptopunks have grown to be among the most expensive NFT collections in the world. One Cryptopunk sold for $69 million in May 2021, making it the most expensive NFT to have ever been sold at the time.
