Initial Game Offering (IGO)

An Initial Game Offering (IGO) is a crowdfunding method that enables game developers to raise funds for a new blockchain-based game by selling tokens or coins on a cryptocurrency exchange. These tokens or coins issued by the game development team represent a stake in the game or a specific asset within it, which can be traded on the open market or used within the game.

IGOs offer an advantage for game developers by providing an alternative to traditional funding channels, such as venture capital firms or crowdfunding platforms. Furthermore, IGOs can help developers build a community around their game and encourage early adoption and engagement.
