Mempool
The mempool, short for “memory pool”, is a term used in blockchain technology to describe the collection of unconfirmed transactions that have been broadcast to the network and are waiting to be included in a block by a miner or validator.
When a user initiates a transaction on a blockchain, it is broadcast to the network and picked up by nodes that verify its validity. If the transaction is valid and meets the consensus rules of the blockchain, it is added to the mempool of each node that received it. The transaction will remain in the mempool until it is included in a block by a miner or validator.
