Public Address
A public address, also known as a public key, is a string of characters that is used to receive cryptocurrency or other digital assets. In cryptocurrency, a public address is a long string of letters and numbers that identifies a user’s wallet or account on the blockchain network.
When someone sends cryptocurrency to a public address, the transaction is broadcasted to the blockchain, and miners validate and record the transaction in a block.
When sending or receiving cryptocurrencies, it is essential to make sure that the right public address is used, because transactions to erroneous addresses cannot be undone and the funds could be permanently lost.
