Shilling
- In crypto, “shilling” means promoting a specific cryptocurrency or token to hype it up, usually for personal profit. It’s all about spreading positive buzz or endorsements about a project, sometimes without mentioning any financial incentives.
- Shilling happens online through social media, forums, or ads, aiming to persuade others to invest in the promoted asset.
- Shilling is considered to be a form of marketing, although it can often be seen as unethical due to its highly promotional nature.
