Spyware

Spyware is a type of malicious software (malware) that is designed to collect information from user’s computer or device without their knowledge or consent. It can track user’s keystrokes, record internet activity, capture screenshots, and collect other sensitive data, such as login credentials, financial information and personal files.

In crypto context, the term “spyware” refers to malicious software that is intended to track and gather data on user’s cryptocurrency activities, including their private keys, wallet addresses and transaction history.

Once installed, spyware gives hackers access to user’s crypto wallet and assets. Attackers may occasionally get access to a user’s deviceĀ  to mine cryptocurrencies or engage in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assaults.
