Token Minting

In the context of crypto, token minting involves the creation of fresh tokens on a blockchain network. This process entails the generation and inclusion of additional units of a particular token into the existing circulating supply. Token minting is commonly facilitated through a smart contract or a dedicated minting function offered by the blockchain protocol.

Throughout the minting process, the tokens are generated in accordance with predetermined rules and parameters, encompassing factors such as the maximum supply, initial allocation, and any applicable conditions or limitations.

The execution of minting may require specific permissions or authentication, depending upon the design of the blockchain and the token standards in use.
