UNI token
UNI is the governance token for Uniswap, a decentralized exchange platform. Launched in September 2020, UNI was distributed through an airdrop to previous users of the platform. Its purpose is to encourage participation in governance decisions and incentivize liquidity providers and users.
UNI holders can propose and vote on protocol changes, making Uniswap more community-driven. Additionally, UNI can be staked for rewards, grants access to services within the Uniswap ecosystem, and shares in protocol fees. As with any cryptocurrency, the value of UNI is determined by market dynamics and demand in the broader crypto market.
