Validator
A validator is a participant in a blockchain network that is responsible for verifying and validating transactions on the network.
In a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain network, validators must hold a certain amount of the blockchain’s native cryptocurrency in order to be eligible to confirm transactions. In a proof-of-work (PoW) system, the validator is the miner who solves the mathematical puzzle to create the block and authenticate the transfer, being rewarded for doing so.
Validators play a crucial role in the security and decentralization of the blockchain network, as they reliably approve the transactions, making sure the network is free of malicious activities.
