What is Chiliz Chain
- Chiliz Chain is a blockchain platform for sports and entertainment brands looking to build secure, Web3-based communities. By providing an ecosystem focused on fan engagement, Chiliz Chain lets developers and brands leverage its extensive sports IP network to create unique digital experiences.

Key Features
- EVM Compatibility: As a BNB Smart Chain (BSC) fork, Chiliz Chain is Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible. This allows developers to use Ethereum tools, making it easy to build decentralized applications (dApps) within the Chiliz ecosystem.
- Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) Consensus: Chiliz Chain employs PoSA, combining Proof-of-Authority (PoA) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS). This hybrid model supports faster transactions with lower costs, but with a limited number of validators for efficient block production and governance.
- Validator System: The chain operates with a fixed set of 11 validators selected through staking governance. Validators produce blocks in a rotation, maintaining network stability and enforcing decentralized decision-making.
- CHZ Token: The CHZ token is the native currency on Chiliz Chain, functioning similarly to ETH on Ethereum. CHZ is used for transaction fees, staking, smart contract deployments, and cross-chain operations with Ethereum.
Chiliz Chain thus offers a specialized blockchain environment where sports and entertainment brands can engage fans, create unique digital assets, and leverage the growing Web3 landscape.
First steps on Chiliz
- Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to bridging your tokens! Chiliz offers the Chiliz Bridge, a dApp that allows you to seamlessly transfer CHZ tokens between Ethereum and Chiliz Chain.
1. Open https://bridge.chiliz.com
2. Connect your MetaMask wallet to the network you’re bridging from (either Ethereum Mainnet or Chiliz Chain Mainnet).
3. Ensure the destination network is correct (either Chiliz Chain Mainnet or Ethereum Mainnet).
4. Enter the amount of CHZ to bridge. Make sure you have enough CHZ to cover both the bridge amount and any bridge fees if bridging from Chiliz Chain.
5. Select the destination address where you want the CHZ to arrive, then click Start Transfer.
6. A “Pre-flight check” summary appears. Confirm by clicking Start Transfer again.
7. Set a spending cap for your CHZ, then click Next.
8. Review the details and click Confirm.
9. You’ll see an “Initializing Transfer” window. Initialization may take a few minutes. Don’t refresh or close the page!
10. The “In Transit” window will appear, showing that your transfer has started. This step can take up to 30 minutes—avoid refreshing the page.
11. Once complete, a Transfer Completed window will appear. Your CHZ tokens will be locked on the origin network (e.g., Ethereum) and transferred to the destination network (e.g., Chiliz Chain). You can view the transaction by clicking View Transaction or start a new transfer with Start New Transfer.
12. Finally, check your Chiliz Chain wallet to ensure the CHZ tokens have been received. This may take a few minutes.
Connect to Mainnet and Testnet
Chiliz offers a Mainnet for your production projects, along with a Testnet called Spicy for testing purposes. Here’s how to connect to both.
