Testnet

A testnet refers to a separate blockchain network that developers and users can utilize to test and experiment with new features, applications, and updates before deploying them on the mainnet.

Testnets are designed to simulate the functionalities and characteristics of the mainnet but with one significant difference: the tokens used on the testnet have no real-world value. This allows developers and users to freely experiment without the risk of losing actual funds.

Testnets serve several purposes in the crypto ecosystem, as development and testing, community engagement via feedback, protocol upgrades testing, and experimenting tool without the fear of making costly mistakes.
